Achilles character does not have much friendship with other warriors. His only friend is Patroclus, who is killed by Hector, the commander of Trojan army. Patroclus death caused a lot of pain and mourning for Achilles and directs his enormous anger towards Hector. Despite the fact that Achilles generally has no respect or love for others.
These three events show his some of his devotion to the people who love him. Achilles decision to kill Hector in revenge does not make his character any different though. Right after starting to convince the readers that he has some humanity in him. He then commits his cruelest deed by killing Hector and still not satisfied by killing him.
